Manten Sushi, Hibiya Okuroji

Sushi Omakase in Tokyo, where you can eat your fill of high-quality sushi for 120 minutes.

I remember having a delicious sushi omakase at another branch near Tokyo Station before, so I tried to make a reservation for this trip, but it was fully booked. So I made a reservation at this branch. It was nice that it was easy to make reservations online these days. I thought that Japan has changed a lot. When I went to the website, there was a 120-minute course for 8,800 yen, so I chose that. You need to pay by card, and after you eat, it will be canceled and repaid at the store. The store was located in an interesting place. At first, I thought it was a mistake because the map said it was located on the train tracks, but it turned out that they had actually developed the area under the train tracks. There were many cafes and restaurants with a great atmosphere.

When you enter the store on time, they will guide you to your designated seat. They provide chopsticks and a wet towel. They serve miso soup with clams, which was delicious. You can order drinks, and some people drink beer and some people drink Japanese shochu. If you order warm green tea, they will refill water with it. They said 120 minutes, so I didn’t think it would happen, but the food really came out in 2 hours. Sashimi comes out first, then pickled vegetables to cleanse your palate, and then steamed eggs. After that, sushi comes out, and there were so many different kinds of sushi. The pictures below are not all 🤣 The chef kept cooking and served the customers well. There were many foreign customers like us as well as Japanese people. It was nice that they explained in simple English what kind of fish it was. When I looked next to them, I was surprised to see Japanese people eating sushi with their bare fingers while wiping their fingers with a wet towel. I had only heard about it, but there were people who actually ate like that. After eating until you were full for 2 hours, they gave you fruit and the course ended.

In Korea, if you want to eat this kind of course omakase, it would cost more than 100,000 won, but I was happy to be able to eat this kind of course for about 90,000 won. However, I don’t know if it’s because I’m older or because I’ve eaten a lot of delicious sushi, but the sushi in Korea was also delicious. I felt that the prices in Seoul have gone up a lot these days, but instead, the food culture has developed a lot. Also, maybe because I’m older, I couldn’t eat much. I recommend coming on an empty stomach. It’s a good place to visit to enjoy delicious sushi during your trip to Japan. I recommend making a reservation before visiting.
