A feast of various teas in Mangwon-dong
This is a famous tea house in Mangwon-dong. They say it operates on a 100% reservation basis. You can make a reservation through Naver. We didn’t make a reservation, but there was a cancellation at the time, so we were able to use it. The antique wooden interior is impressive. It was quiet and I felt overwhelmed by the mysterious atmosphere. It was also strange that there were so many foreigners.
We ordered a tea set for two. It was a set that came with one tea and shaved ice. The matcha shaved ice had a pleasant bitterness. It was delicious. They say it was made with the highest quality malja from Uji, Kyoto. We drank the signature tea called Nomad Tea. It was a tea blended with fresh flowers grown in Yeosu, Jeollanam-do. The fragrant scent of flowers slightly tickled my nose. There is warm water in the middle. If you pour this water into a teapot, you can drink tea again and again. They also serve pretty snacks. To be honest, they didn’t taste that good. 🤣
There is a showroom inside. There are various teas collected by the shop owners from various places. Wow! There were teacups and such on display. There were also items for sale.
There are a lot of Japanese tea, so it’s hard to see it as Korean, but the atmosphere created by the various tea is amazing. I think it’s a place you must visit if you visit Mangwon-dong.
