Breakfast at the Westin Guangzhou
After spending a night at the Westin Guangzhou, I came down to the restaurant on the second floor for breakfast. It operates as a buffet restaurant during lunch and dinner hours.
The restaurant occupied the entire second floor, so it was very spacious and offered a variety of dishes.
What I particularly liked was that they offered a variety of Chinese dishes. In the morning, there was a noodle station, and next to it, they were making steamed rice rolls.
If I choose the vegetables, noodles, and broth I want, they serve warm noodles. I chose warm beef broth, and it was a very pleasant start that warmed my stomach.
In addition to that, they offered a variety of other Chinese dishes. There were warm dishes, including tomato and egg stew, as well as steamed dumplings.
What was particularly delicious was the grilled dumplings; the bottom was crispy and packed with chives and meat, so I ate several of them. It made me feel very full.
Of course, they were also serving Western-style breakfast. There was sausage, bacon, tomatoes, scrambled eggs, and an egg station, as well as a variety of breads. However, since it was something commonly found elsewhere, I wasn’t inclined to try it.
My overall feeling after the meal
The Westin Guangzhou Hotel has an excellent location in the heart of downtown Guangzhou. However, it is true that it feels a bit dated. Nevertheless, the restaurant on the second floor was very clean, served fresh food, and offered a variety of Chinese dishes, which I liked.
