Starbucks Reserve Roastery Milano

One of only six Starbucks coffee roasting locations worldwide

I visited a Starbucks near Milan Duomo. It turned out that this Starbucks was a Starbucks Reserve that roasts beans from only six locations in the world. It is said to be the only Starbucks Roastery in Europe, which opened in 2018.

Atmosphere

The building’s exterior is impressive, and it is said to have been renovated from a bank building.

The marble-decorated interior had a high ceiling and was very spacious. There were even several places to take coffee orders. The interior was decorated with bronze. And the most impressive thing was the coffee bean roasting machine that rotated in the middle of the store. It was quite a novel experience to actually put raw coffee in and roast it to make dark brown beans. When the beans came out, the store was filled with the scent of coffee!

I also liked that there was a section that sold special souvenirs unique to this store. If you go deep into the store, there are stairs that lead up to this floor, and they apparently sell alcohol there. I’d like to try it next time I have the chance. And my tip is to go to the bathroom in the basement. The lighting is amazing, and you can take great selfies. 🤣

The walls were also decorated in a flashy way using coffee bean packaging.

Coffee and food

There were menus that were available at regular Starbucks locations, as well as some unique menus. They also sold coffee beans. The bakery was impressive, and it seemed like they actually made it in the store.

I ordered a vanilla cream latte and an Americano. It was a delicious Americano with lots of ice, which is hard to find in Europe, but it was refreshing and had a strong coffee flavor. I used to drink only warm coffee or espresso in Europe, so it was hard because the weather was so hot, but it was so nice to drink such a refreshing coffee.
