A place where you can taste Korean tea, interpreted in a modern way.
Osulloc is a famous Korean tea brand. Its tea made by a cosmetics company called Amorepacific, it has a tea plantation on Jeju Island. There is a flagship store for Sulwhasoo and Osulloc in Bukchon. It is a place that presents its brand in a very sophisticated way, so I highly recommend visiting if you are in Seoul.
Non-alcoholic cocktail made with Korean tea
If you visit the store, I recommend visiting the third floor. The third floor offers a variety of beverages made with Korean-style tea. So it’s called ‘Bar Sulloc’
Unlike the second floor, the third floor was selling more interesting and fresh drinks. We ordered tea-based cocktails. One was a camellia-scented piña colada, and the other was a yuzu cocktail with green tea.
When you order a drink, a small cup is served alongside it so you can sample the type of tea used. About three pieces of tea snack are also included.
It was nice that the drinks and food were presented beautifully on a single tray. The cocktail had a distinct tea aroma and was refreshing. I also liked that the accompanying tea foods had a Korean flavor.
Here’s a tip: you can bring drinks sold on the second floor down to the third floor to enjoy together. We also ordered matcha bingsu to share. The slightly bitter matcha was served in the shape of Hallasan, a famous mountain on Jeju Island.
The seating was comfortable, and the bar-like decor gave it a sophisticated feel. Also, since a cup of tea doesn’t cost more than 20,000 won, it is a great place to visit when you want to enjoy the atmosphere.
